Ohui-a-Rangi Young Mariners
The Ohui-A-Rangi Young Mariners unit (known as OARS) meeting at 6.30pm Thursday nights (excluding winter months) and also on Sundays at 9am or 12.20pm, depending on tides.
Our base of operations is at the Young Mariners building at Pigeon Mountain Reserve. We use this as our base for both summer and winter meetings and activities. We also on occasion use the Bucklands Beach Yacht Club and the Howick Coastguard base for activities and training.
In addition to "little bucks" we also sail in the Eastern Beach area, Mellons Bar, Browns Island and have in the past ventured to Waiheke.
We also row occasionally on the Waikato River and do various events (mainly in Winter) including rock climbing, bowling etc.
